Potentia’s mission is to maximize the potential of lawyers, law firms and law departments today and in the future. While Potentia works with lawyers at all stages of their career, it has developed a niche in retirement, succession planning, business development and maternity leave coaching.
Potentia’s founder and lead coach, Hilary Clarke, has the experience and perspective required to help lawyers realize their full potential. She practised law for almost 30 years at a large national law firm, where she held a host of management positions, including National Litigation Group Leader. Throughout her career, Hilary trained and coached lawyers on a myriad of issues, including on business development and business planning. She also has first-hand experience with succession and retirement planning as a practice group leader and with transitioning a practice and retiring herself.
As a coach, Hilary combines this experience with the vision, creativity, passion, commitment and rigour necessary to empower clients to find solutions and bring about successful change.
Hilary is a Certified Executive Coach with a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia. The Royal Roads program is the recognized premier executive coaching program in Canada and is accredited by the International Coach Federation, the international governing body for the coaching profession.
Hilary is active in her community and is committed to community leadership. She is currently the Past Chair of the LAMP Community Health Centre Board in South Etobicoke.
